The drive home from London last week was long and difficult.
There had been a number of accidents and the eastbound 401 was stopped in both the express and collectors.
It took far too long to get even from Woodstock to Milton. So I pulled off the highway and stopped in a carpool area.
I also desperately had to pee. So I wandered off into what I thought was a nearby forest where I stumbled across this lovely cemetery.
I paid my respects and moved away into the woods to water the plants.
Back at the carpool, I could see that traffic was still not moving much, so I decided to stay put and wait for the full moon to come up.
It came up slowly and from behind the stand of trees I watered. It also crested the trees and immediately went behind a cloud.
So much for my impromptu plan to capture the full, harvest moon.
Still, I think the photos are fun and capture some of the industrial romance I feel for the edges of cities. The suburban fields of homes and pavement that house the dreams of so many sleeping people as the moon floats its way overhead.
I find those two shots with the lowering night sky quite remarkable, and admire your patient handling of a 401 trip delay..
Thanks so much, Munroe.
