I went out last night, after working late, and was able to catch The Evening Hymns at the Gordon Best Theatre.
What a treat it was to hear them.
The music is moody and reverent and Jonas Bonnetta’s lyrics are personal and often express his sense of place either in the landscape or among friends and family. His stage banter, story telling really, illuminated each song with a history of it’s origin.
He finished the night with a solo rendition of Spectral Dusk from the album of the same name.
Go hear them play if you can. Emotional and compelling…
Speaking of quiet, the first snows fell this week.
