I am still thinking about this suburban study I want to do.
I have a bunch of ideas in my head about what I want to say and how I want it to look.
These are photos I took on my cell phone last Sunday when I got out to the edge of town and saw an atmosphere that was akin to what I am considering.
I know there is a lot of material out there about the affectation, the soullessness, the enforced conformity and emptiness of suburban life.
And, having grown up in the suburbs, as so many of us have, I have seen plenty of that.
But there’s also something romantic; the hopes, the modesty and the fallible humanity of this manufactured dream of “the good life” that I find extremely compelling.
There is beauty there. If you look.
