Haliburton Rehearsal

incan01
This week we’re in Haliburton with Dusk Dances. The landscape is beautiful and the park where we’re performing is alongside the lovely Head Lake.

It’s been a busy tour and I haven’t had much time for more than snapshots.

Yesterday I walked out of my motel room to see the dancers and co-choreographers rehearsing Incandescent in preparation for our Peterborough show.

incan02It’s a moving piece about the individual and collective experience. In Peterborough it will be performed by 24 Peterborough dancers and community members as well as our touring performers. (l. to r. above: choreographers Kate Franklin and Meredith Thompson with dancders Brodie Stevenson, Molly Johnson, Mairead Filgate and Brendan Wyatt)

incan03It was a hoot watching everyone rehearse on the front lawn with the motel, bbques and horse-shoe pits in the background and the highway traffic driving by surely wondering what the heck was going on.

incan04It was steaming hot, but spirits were up and everyone laughed their way through rehearsal.

incan05It looks like everything is coming together for next week.

See you soon, Peterborough!
